I was informed that 2D.G.F. accused me of having miner in my files - That's a lie.
I personally gave FTW infraction for posting game with bitcoin miner on A-S. If you download anything from 2D.G.F. - mikocon,
make sure to caerfully check if their release not infected with chines spyware or bitcoin miners. Run exe from their upload through virus scan online or offline.
Be safe and vigilant.
tl;dr it's good to be vigilant when downloading files but don't jump to conclusions. if you want a full breakdown see below:
I don't believe it's actually malicious at all. lets break down the report from hybrid analysis.
it flagged three files.
it flagged "jpgflt.ift" which if you read the attached virustotal report was only reported by 1 AV. Meaning it's a likely false positive.
VirusTotal Report:
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/5bcaaff4c698581603d4165308260412b38ac6cf708486b53bda3bc76241098d/detection
I then took the SHA-256 hashes for each of the "known ransomware" files and looked them up on virustotal, no detection at all, not been used in any discovered ransomware.
ADShow.txt Virustotal:
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/dc502927f209e1d5a7cc602c2f0933402480363b5f8537fef8d0be07812036c9/detection
DirectShow.txt Virustotal:
https://www.virustotal.com/#/file/9dec66a4fd22b50681c6f1f199e22836e811fe3d03a8f8a89e40a2d694429150/detection
in layman's terms Hybrid Analysis has flagged files which "appear" to look like they're doing some bad but if you apply to context, the exe in question for the game/movie has to do certain functions to be able to operate.
There also no outbound traffic either after .exe was run, which you'd expect to see from ransomware or any malware really.
